We are very pleased to offer you an exclusive selection of Obstberg delicacies to enjoy at home. The dishes, lovingly prepared by our kitchen team, are ready for pick-up refrigerated or conveniently delivered to your door. All you have to do is put on the finishing touches and enjoy!

Monday to Saturday order by 2pm and come pick up between 5:30pm – 7pm or have it delivered.

Rather mysterious and tucked away – but special enough to warrant tracking down: our gem of a restaurant in the delightful Obstberg quarter. A pinch of country inn, a hint of back-street eatery and a trace of urban lifestyle blended with contemporary brasserie cuisine: that’s the Brasserie Obstberg! This generously proportioned restaurant, furnished in the brasserie style typical of the 1930s, offers an easy-going atmosphere in the Bistro and a romantic ambience in the “Sääli”. And the garden with its ancient chestnut trees is a popular place to be in the summer.

We can also provide coloured pencils and drawing books, as well as “TripTrap” highchairs so the younger ones can sit at the same height as you.

It is the history that shapes our identity – since 1908.

Built in 1908 by the architect Johann Jakob Nigst, the building, which stands in a prominent location, is a prime example of the free mix of styles that were very popular at the time.

The strong, sandstone-coloured ashlar base floor with its clearly accentuated entrance and large round-floor windows indicates the location of the restaurant. This characterisation of the restaurant as a massive sandstone building may have been influenced by the Kornhauskeller, which had been remodelled ten years earlier. The private living quarters above the restaurant appear rather unobtrusive and restrained in their design.

Since the building permit with the “installation of a restaurant cooker” on 14 May 1908, the “Restaurant Obstberg” has experienced a gastronomic history of over 110 years.

On 1 March 2009, Irene and Lukas Uehlinger signed the lease with the owner of the house and began an extensive two-month renovation.

When it reopens in May 2009, the “Brasserie Obstberg” is resplendent with French charm and a dedicated team. Thanks to a great kitchen performance, the “Brasserie Obstberg” is included in the “Gault Millau” for the first time in October 2014 with 13 points.
